
Grenada continues to be an attractive destination for high-net-worth individuals interested
in dual citizenship. In 2022, the Grenada Citizenship by Investment Program received a total
of 1251 applications, reflecting an increase of 121% from the previous year when the
Grenada Citizenship by Investment Unit received 566 applications.
27% of the applications approved acquired citizenship via the donation route while the
remaining 73% opted for the real estate option, marking the largest approval rate in the real
estate option since 2014.

On Thursday 23 rd June 2022, the ninth Prime Minister of Grenada was elected; Mr. Dickon
Amiss Thomas Mitchell, defeating Dr. Keith Claudius Mitchell of the New National Party.
Dickon entered the political arena in August 2021 and was elected leader of the National
Democratic Congress

As it pertains to immigration and employment matters, Grenada is a signatory to two regional treaties being the Revised Treaty of Basseterre. The country is also signatory to several international treaties including several fundamental International Labour Organization (ILO) Treaties, Tax Information Exchange Agreements (TIEA) and Double Taxation Conventions (DTCs) as of August 2014. Grenada is not a signatory to any of the UN treaties on Refugees and stateless persons.


As a developing nation Grenada has an emergent economy with potential for further economic growth, experiencing an annual growth rate of three percent of its gross domestic product (GDP).


While the cabinet rejected 3 Citizenship by Investment (CBI) applications for the first quarter of 2019, at the same time it approved 184 persons to become new citizens of Grenada.

The Government of Grenada is taking steps to make its Citizenship by Investment (CBI) Programme more attractive to investors by offering a greater range of benefits.
